he gets on the bike, the thinning light gleams on the bike's t handle bar

she waits with a hand on her hips, she slowly climbs onto the back of the bike,

there is an impending pain in my heart, i wanna freeze the moment, i refuse to believe that bike is goin to start up and leave..

it roars to a start, they wave, i am scared and screaming behind mutely within me, not to leave,

now i see their red tail-light and her disappearin silouhette n the dark,

my heart has the lonely ghosts of the beautiful sun-lit days i spent with her within me, refusin to move, everyday a great detail..

i go to the terrace every evening see the lights burning in the mountains from there,

i know she lives there, i know she might be there on her terrace,

everyday i wake up feeling unwanted...

the sheets are cold, she is happy wt someone, they live happy..

Australia

They are a good side, but do not have the tactical brilliance or the confidence just yet to make it really big...

Who knows this could be a good year for them but i doubt it, if they face a good side like Nigeria or something in the knock-out stages..

But that could be a tall ask for a team that is ina group with Germany and Ghana to contend with, Ghana are a very good side, they really put the heat on Brazil in the last edition, But with Serbia in there as well...

Who the second team to qualify in this group is wide open right now...

Let's see, great year for them if they get into the second round

Italy

Italy are my favorite side;

and its not because the won the last WC. The reason I like them is well because they are just too damn good-looking when they win together, that's why...

and given that Italy are one of those sides that really play to win for hurt pride;

and that is what I like about them.

Okay now to this year's side;

Um..old at first glance, everybody including Buffon is old

do they have a point to prove at this year's WC..um NO..

They don't; most teams are happy if they can deliver a Knock-out phase entering performance in they edition subsequent to one they have won;

They are a good side in that they have some serious-serious experience;

But this year with the same coach and players, with a few changes here and there, Ital;y at the moment look patchy to go the whole way...

But a WC winning side is never usually short of tricks, are they short of motivation then, NO, not really..

Although they would wish deviously that a Calicopoli scandal coincided every 4 years with WC, so that they have a point to prove to the World about Italian football every time they walk out to the pitch.

Their coach is a tactician who is well known for his match winning substitutions;

He has put together a solid side with some really reliable names in the country

For me Laquinta's inclusion and Balotelli's exclusion was a little cruel and to my footballing mid rather unsound..

Was it racially motivated, I don't know, Laquinta is old, but he has heart but not much talent, to come up with a finish when it really matters

Mario is young, lacks confidence, but does that kid have some talent or what..!!

He's pacy, has a few tricks up his sleeve, and if given the right encouragement he'll make a great footballer and striker...

Italy have a great albeit aging defense, but they know their bread and butter, which is why this side are never to be taken lightly, the world already made that mistake 4 years back.

What Italy need are a great attacking combination, not a suspect one they have right now,

they miss Del Piero, Balotelli, Toni, etc;

But they have Di Natale, Borriello, Pazzini and G Rossi;

Now I don't know how much these names are going to add up to make a decent combination.

I personally believe Del Piero could have made a difference, he was their talisman..

I don't have too many worries about other names in their mid-field and defence...

Seems solid enough, unless they are caught out for age, speed and complacency...

If the Italians can keep these three evils at bay, which they did very well 6 years back, then they are going to be a very serious side to reckon with..

Now, if there are worries about Grosso not being there, well he's earned it, he has'nt done much in the last 4 years to catch the coach's eye, he's a good left back, but the WC team needs the best..

He may have been able to score a few important goals, I am not without that thought, but well, its just 23 people, you need your country's best and there are better than Grosso...I'm sorry Fabio...

Totti being missed out is going to hurt this team, more than they think..

Pirlo's great but aging...hmmmm..let's wish them a decent tournament, I am not hoping to see them go the full way, The Quarter-finals should be a fair expectation.. I am guessing..not for any Italian though..chuckle..:D

But let's face it...England have the experience required in some areas of the field.. namely defence..they have a strong one.. their strikers are slightly under par by their own admission to what other have brought to RSA with the exception of course of Wayne Rooney..

I maybe the feeble one to raise this idea, but I still believe Michael owen had one more WC to play in him...

True he is injury prone but if England were looking for one man to change things when the game is not going their way, it could have been him..there's always Rooney...

but..well..he could have played a part..he has an amazing eye for the goal and can strike at crucial times and is a real threat in front of goal with his postioning and accuracy..but well Cappello might not have wanted an often tiring casualty in his 23 man squad

England does not have the necessary wolfish think tank in their midfield as some of their counter parts...

which France, Brazil etc pride in....

but I think Gerrard is a real boon, Glen Johnson has the talent for the big stage so he is impressive

Overall, I have always felt England carry their premier league egos a lil' too seriously in their hearts into the big stage and are humbled quite suddenly when faced with a good team..

Thankfully, England's true and genuine hope this time is their Italian Coach who has a reputation for being a very demanding task master and he of all people should be reminding them that this time is the one time they have a real chance at a crack at the Copa

And the reason, he has made England a bit more of a tougher, more competitive side unlike prior World Cups when there more hype than honest quality...

This type there is more of a direction and an honest attemtp to live up to that hype..

I think England might do well this time, I won't bet this early they'll win the cup.

I am yet to see the other sides. But semi-finals beckons this English squad..i for one certainly see enough talent that can get them there..

so that's it for now..let's wait and watch now
